Other than that, there's Dragonite's Do or Die Gamemaker 2 Engine which has incredible potential since it's modern and can also be used as a base for a "catcher" jrpg styled engine. Keep in mind that RMMV uses Javascript instead of Ruby. I know your question revolves around RMXP usage, but aside from RMXP, there are some plugins for RMMV which, if tweaked, can help you achieve what you want. Well, your username sounds similar to that user's, are you the same person? There is however a way to sort of come up with a similar system without utilizing external scripts too much. You'd be pretty surprised to know there's been a lot of people who wanted to go down that route on the RpgMaker forums, and If I remember correctly, some scripts that allowed just that had been released- it's been quite a long time though, not sure if you can find them.
